COLT 212 - Comparative World Cinema

CRN: 32153

Instructor: Pearl Lee

Term: Spring 2023

Home is…

This course juxtaposes narrative and documentary films set in the Americas and East Asia revolving around individuals not “at home” in this world. We will probe into the ways in which a purportedly free market can severely restrict where we get to call home, how governments can be keener on bulldozing than safeguarding homes, and that a society built for neurotypical folks alone can be no home for many.
