The Department of Comparative Literature, the Department of German and Scandinavian, and the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies Program together host a Commencement ceremony for undergraduate and graduate majors. Please join us on Monday, June 18, 2018 to honor the accomplishments of our students.
Our ceremony will be held in the EMU ballroom at 4:00 p.m. followed by a reception.
Students eligible to participate
Students who graduate Fall, Winter, or Spring Term will receive an invitation to participate in the ceremony. The Department of Comparative Literature does not hold a summer ceremony. Students who have not finished all of their requirements and wish to participate in the Commencement ceremony should meet with department head Prof. Kenneth Calhoon in his office hours for approval. Students who are approved will then need to contact the office manager, Cynthia Stockwell, firstname.lastname@example.org, to register for participation.
Registration for the Comparative Literature Commencement ceremony
Students intending to participate in the department ceremony need to register with the office manager, Cynthia Stockwell, email@example.com.
Graduating seniors are requested to wear the traditional regalia. Regalia and other items related to Commencement may be purchased from The Duck Store.
Students are encouraged to invite family and friends to the department commencement ceremony; this is not a ticketed event.
If you or members of your family need accommodations for the ceremony, such as accessible seating/parking or sign language interpreters, please contact Cynthia Stockwell at firstname.lastname@example.org/541-346-0934 by June 1. Any requests made after that day may not be able to be accommodated.
We will have a professional photographer taking photos of each student, with photos ordered from the photographer after the ceremony.
There will be flower stands throughout the quad–see Commencement Map. The flower icons indicate flower stalls where flowers may be purchased.
For information on parking, see the university’s Main Commencement ceremony web page. Free parking is available at Autzen Stadium. Unless you have a disability, this is the parking location for all guests. If you need accommodation for a disability, please contact the Comparative Literature office manager, Cynthia Stockwell, 6-0934, email@example.com.
Please allow plenty of time for parking and walking or taking the shuttle bus back to campus. Graduates need to arrive by 3:15 for lining up and group photographs.
