Okumu presented paper at the PAMLA

In November, Robin Okumu attended the annual PAMLA (Pacific and Ancient Modern Languages Association) conference in Bellingham, WA where she presented a paper, titled: “Rewriting Patriarchal Ventriloquism: Reclaiming the Sibyl’s voice in Monique Wittig’s Virgile, Non.” The paper analyses Wittig’s use of language at the threshold of Paradise in her lesbian-feminist rewriting of the Divine Comedy, specifically through the trope of the Sibyl’s leaves.
