Teo on Translation

Assistant Professor Tze-Yin Teo completed an article titled “Non-Event” on weakness and the notion of future justice in Jacques Derrida, which is forthcoming in CR: The New Centennial Review. Teo has also completed editorial work on a special issue of the Oxford Literary Review on “Deconstruction and the Politics of Matter” (co-edited with Geoffrey Bennington). Both are forthcoming in the second half of 2017. Additionally, Teo has presented research on translation and modernist literature at four conferences this year: “Dictée: Machine, Translation” at the Modernist Studies Association; “Machine Translation in an Age of Technological Reproduction” at the Modern Languages Association; “Habitus in Translation” at the Association for Writers and Writing Programs; and “’What turns me on’: Two Forms of Big Translation” at the Global Asias 4 conference held at Pennsylvania State University.
