  • In this class we will study some of the literary roots of the movement that would come to be known as existentialism. While we will not be reading philosophy per se, we will read works which anticipate the philosophical issues central to existentialism from Dostoevsky's preoccupation with a world without God through Beckett's madcap seekers and Malraux's philosophical revolutionaries.
