Professor Clark is currently working with Prof. David Frank on the final drafts of a manuscript about her father titled "Liberal Courage: The Rhetorical Presidency of Robert D. Clark." She is continuing work on her book about literature and the environment called "The Natural History of Modernism." Her publications include Cold Warriors: The Crisis of Manliness and the Rhetoric of the West, Southern Illinois University Press, 2000; Sentimental Modernism: Women Writers and the Revolution of the Word, Indiana University Press, 1991 ; articles on Zora Neale Hurston, Hemingway, Kristeva, Millay, Boyle, Dillard, Malamud, LeGuin; rhetoric essays on argument, sentimental literacy, and "Fight Club," rural schools, teaching.
